You Are Where You Live

Here's a fascinating toy from Claritas, a market research firm. You give it a zipcode, and it tells you what the top 5 "demographic clusters" are who live there. Then you can see if you really fit in or not. =)

Thanks to John Scalzi's Whatever column for the link, in his Whatever column where he finds out he's a fish out of water because he doesn't a) go fresh-water fishing, b) drink RC Cola, c) watch ESPN2, or d) read Motor Trend. He *does* have a dog, though. =)

Anyway, I amused myself a great deal by clicking through the zip codes of various friends and family and seeing if I could locate them in their demographic. Sadly, "poverty-stricken theater-loving graduate student" doesn't seem to be a major demographic category in my zip code. I guess I really don't belong here. ;-P
